As an online coach, I want everyone to feel confident in their bodies, by motivating them to exercise and make good food choices, in a way that fits into their busy lives. We can work on your fitness and nutrition online together, so you can improve your health from wherever you are, with my weight loss advice at your fingertips.
If you work with a personal trainer in person, you might pay £40-50 per hour, and only see them twice a week. This works out at about £400 per month. Working out with me online means you get support throughout the week, can schedule your workouts in your own time and you have consistent support, motivation and accountability… to keep you on track towards achieving your goals! And all at a more affordable price than an in-person coach.

My Background

I am a personal trainer, a British Weightlifting coach, and a level 4 nutrition and diet adviser, qualified with Active IQ and Diet Specialist, which is registered with the Association for Nutrition. I am also a qualified dance teacher with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. I am an accredited advisor with UK Anti-Doping. I am also a sports massage therapist with ITEC.

Background

My transformation was physical as well as mental. Here’s a bit about me…

I have a background in dance, qualifying as a dance teacher in 2007. I taught kids to be fitter and more confident through dance.

I travelled to the US where I coached elite gymnasts how to incorporate dance into their training to get the most out of their practice.

When I came back to Scotland, I moved to Edinburgh and, alongside my day job, I taught dance classes for adults looking to improve their fitness, make friends and have fun.

Lift Weights

At the age of 24, I had surgery on my hip joint and was told I couldn’t dance, or exercise properly, again.

While I can’t dance anymore, I have been able to build up my fitness and strength in other ways. I now box and do spin classes, but my main focus is weightlifting.

Weightlifting has transformed my life – both physically and mentally – and this is something I want to share with others.

But I didn’t always work in fitness for a living. I’m a lawyer, I qualified in 2014, and am admitted to practise law in Scotland, New York and California.

I worked in the legal world for 6 years, before realising that it wasn’t for me. I hated being at a desk all day, and didn’t like how the career made me feel about myself. I wanted to help people be the best versions of themselves (not help make rich people richer!)

I focused more and more on my own training, and then chose to make this my career – helping and empowering others to make the same changes I made, to be happier, healthier and more comfortable in my own skin. Life is too short for this not to be a priority.

Charity Work

I also dedicate my time to helping others less fortunate, and feel really passionate about charity work.

Throughout my time at university, I tutored students for free who couldn’t afford a personal tutor but needed help and had potential. I’m so proud that all of those students have gone on to be amazing, successful people. This, along with my dance teaching, showed me how rewarding it is to help others change their lives.

In September 2018, my partner and I climbed Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh 35.25 times (the equivalent of climbing the 8,848m of Mount Everest) to raise money for Make A Wish UK. Please donate here.
